Emauzy Monastery  

The monastery is easily accessible by public transport (via the underground station Karlovo náměstí and  trams nos. 3, 5, 10, 24 - the tram stops being in close vicinity), there is a restaurant in the monastery complex, and other restaurants are in the adjacent neighbourhoods.  The monastery does not offer accommodation. 

Opening ours

Church services: Every day at 10 a.m.  is held Holy Mass celebrated in the monastery church, at 6 p. m. there are Vespers sung in Latin. Church services are conducted by local Benedictines. In the area of the monastery there is the little Church of St. Cosmas and Damian, where the Holy Liturgies of the Roman Catholic Church take place every Sunday at 9 a.m. and on Tuesday and Thursday at 5 p.m.  

Visitors can see the cloister, the atrial quad, the former refectory, the Imperial Chapel and the monastery church. Temporary exhibitions are held in the exhibition hall.  In April and October the monastery is open from Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., from May to September from Monday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In winter, i.e. from November to March, the monastery is open from Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The admission fee is 50 CZK, concessions 30 CZK.

Emauzy is located on the old road to Vyšehrad (www.praha-vysehrad.cz).  Recommended to visit in the local area is the building of the New Town Hall (www.nrpraha.cz) in Charles Square (Karlovo náměstí) and the National Memorial to the Heroes of the Heydrich Terror in  Resslova Street (www.pamatnik-heydrichiady.cz).
