Admission fee for a guided tour in Czech:

Adults: 70 CZK

Concessions: 45 CZK

Family ticket: Parents + maximum of 3 children: 180 CZK

Children under 6 years, group leader for groups over 20 persons: free of charge

Borrowing a foreign language text: Free of charge

 Guided tours in a foreign language: 100% surcharge to the entrance fee 

The  Sázava Monastery is open usually from April to October  to all interested in a guided tour of the exteriors and interiors of the former convent and Sanctuary church. Tours begin at pre-set hours. Tours at other times for groups of 7 or more are possible by prior arrangement and reservation and only if the operating conditions allow it. Foreign visitors are usually provided with a guided tour text available in Polish, English, German or Spanish. Visitors can freely and without charge look around the exteriors or relax in the monastery’s north garden  with its 11^th-century Church of the Holy Cross .

It is possible to attend the regular church services at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Procopius all through the year.   From time to timeconcerts and other cultural events are held within the monastery. 

In connection with the celebration of the feast of St. Procopius at the beginning of July it is also possible to take part in the St. Procopius Pilgrimage . During pilgrimage festivals  other relics of St. Procopius are exhibited for the pilgrims: St. Procopius’s arm,  St. Procopius’s spoon  and the  cup in which he was supposed to have turned water into wine.  

By car:

The fastest way from Prague: on the D1 highway (Prague-Brno), exit after 34 km (Ostředek) and drive a further 10 km to the town of Sázava.

From Prague on local roads: Prague – Říčany – Jevany – Stříbrná Skalice – Sázava
From Kutna Hora on  local roads: Kutná Hora - Uhlířské Janovice - Sázava

Parking: free parking by the bridge over the River Sazava and then a 3-minute walk to the monastery, marked by its high gothic tower with a shingled roof.

 

By train

On the line Čerčany -  Světlá nad Sázavou connecting  Prague – Benešov or Prague – České Budějovice (Brno)

Final station: Sázava - zastávka or Sázava - Černé Budy 
It is about a 15-minute walk to the monastery from both stops .
                       

By public transport:

From Prague  on Prague Integrated Transport (PID) line no. 382, departure from the final metro station “C” “Háje”.

Final station: Sázava-Černé Budy (by the bridge), a 3-minute walk to the monastery
